Election Statement:

I bring a unique combination of clinical laboratory expertise, leadership experience, and a deep commitment to the DFW infection preventionist community. With a Doctor of Health Sciences degree and multiple certifications, including Advanced Leadership in Infection Prevention (AL-CIP), I have a proven track record of initiating and driving impactful change. My career has been defined by a commitment to education and the effective implementation of best practices. I am passionate about fostering mentorship and professional development, ensuring our members have the resources and support needed to excel in infection prevention. I aim to leverage my communication skills and prior experience on APIC and CBIC committees to advocate for our chapter, strengthen our community partnerships, and uphold the highest standards of public health and patient safety.

Katharine Hoffman, CIC

Election Statement:

As an Infection Prevention Program Manager, I bring strong organizational skills and leadership experience from education co-chairing and annual conference committee service. This experience gives me a solid understanding of our chapter’s operations and member needs. I am committed to evidence-based practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and I aim to strengthen professional development, support knowledge sharing, and advocate for resources that protect our communities.

Sasha Gbedemah, MSN, RN, CIC

Candidate for Treasurer-Elect

Election Statement:

I am excited to be considered for the APIC DFW Treasurer-Elect position. As an Infection Prevention Program Manager for Texas Health Resources, I am committed to advancing patient safety and supporting infection prevention professionals. My APIC DFW leadership includes two years as Conference Chair and service as Chapter Board Member #4. I bring strategic leadership, fiscal stewardship, and a strong commitment to the chapter’s continued growth and success.
