We welcome you to a dynamic chapter and hope that you will join us as a member or partner. Our chapter is proud to offer a diverse IP network, educational events, advocacy initiatives, and a variety of volunteer and professional development opportunities.

For Your Information

  • In addition to National APIC dues, APIC-DFW chapter dues are $25.00. Membership in APIC National is required to join the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter (#005)

    • When joining APIC, be sure to select Dallas/Fort Worth as your home chapter.

    • If you renew your National APIC membership at the APIC Annual Conference, you must complete your APIC-DFW chapter renewal separately by clicking here.
  • APIC membership includes a subscription to the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).

  • Our chapter meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Meetings include a one-hour educational session followed by a business meeting, usually concluding by 3:15 p.m. View our meeting calendar.

  • Summaries of past educational presentations are available here on our website.

  • Potential members are invited to attend up to two meetings before joining the chapter.

  • Continuing education credits from monthly education sessions (when offered), as well as committee participation require active chapter membership.

Membership Types

  • Professional Member

    Occupationally or professionally involved in the practice and management of infection control and/or the application of epidemiology.

    May vote, hold elected office, and serve on committees.

  • New to Profession Member

    Same as Professional Member, but with fewer than 3 years of experience in the field.

    May vote, hold elected office, and serve on committees.

  • Associate Member

    Not actively involved in the practice and management of infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology.

    May vote and serve in appointed roles, but may not hold elected office.

  • Student Member
    • Undergraduate: Enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution and has never been employed in infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology.
    • Graduate: Enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at an accredited institution and has never been employed in infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology.

    May not vote or hold elected office.

  • Retired Member

    Individuals who are no longer employed and who have maintained five (5) consecutive years of Active or Associate APIC membership prior to retirement.

    May serve on committees but may not hold elected office.

  • Supporting Member

    Individuals not actively involved in the practice of infection prevention and control and/or epidemiology.

    May not vote, hold elected office, or serve on committees.
