APIC LIAISON
The APIC Liaison provides timely reports from our parent organization to the membership. This position is automatically held by the APIC-DFW President when a current APIC-DFW member is not serving on an APIC Committee or the Board.
AWARDS
This committee handles awards for chapter members, including assessment, provision and distribution of the STAR awards.

The Chapter Engagement Committee provides encouragement, support (as appropriate), and facilitates an annual chapter celebration
CNE PROVIDER
Terri Goodman & Associates, Provider Number CEP 16550, is an approved provider of continuing nursing education credit by the California Board of Registered Nursing,
CONFERENCE
The Conference Committee develops one or more seminars and/or workshops annually, addressing topics of current relevance, and featuring speakers who are experts in various disciplines within infection control.
Education PROGRAM
The Education Program Committee plans programs for all regular membership meetings, working with APIC-DFW Board to ensure sessions align with the strategic plan, vision, and memberships needs.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS/CLR
The Governmental Affairs Committee concentrates first on Texas-based infection control issues at the state legislative level, and, as an extension of National APIC regarding national legislative issues impacting infection prevention and control. Activities include dissemination of critical legislative information for the purpose of networking and letter writing campaigns to impact the law making process based on science. This committee also keeps the membership current on the Texas Department of State Health Services per proposed/adopted rules as published in the Texas Register.
HISTORIAN/PR Committee
The Historian collects and organizes pertinent information needed to maintain Chapter records, including meeting minutes, bylaws, and financial documents. In honor of our chapter's 25th anniversary, we created a scrapbook highlighting chapter activities to display at chapter meetings and events
MEMBERSHIP
Board Member #4 is responsible for maintaining the membership roster, welcoming new members into the chapter, and answer chapter members' questions about membership

NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee prepares a slate of candidates to submit to the board for approval at the September Board meeting.
PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT
The Professional Advancement Committee leads a monthly study group for members who are preparing to take the Infection Prevention and Control Certification exam (CIC) and provides study materials, exam-taking tips and other related assistance as needed. The Committee also provides recognition to members who have become certified or have recertified during the year at the APIC DFW annual holiday luncheon.
SURVEILLANCE sig
Facilitates meeting as necessary regarding information for the Chapter regarding issues related to surveillance education and participation in NHSN. Reports to the membership at monthly meeting as necessary. Utilizes the Board Chair as liaison / resource person to assist with problem -solving issues. Provides a summary of achievements and recommendations to the Board chair by November 15. Develops, reviews, and revises content related to Surveillance SIG on the website throughout the year.
Vendor Liaison
Arranges vendors for the monthly meeting, including webinar sponsorship opportunity,
WEBMASTER
Our website is designed to provide our members with timely and pertinent information, convenient tools for participating in chapter activities, and resources to enhance practice. The goal of the website is to position the APIC-DFW website as the primary communication tool for our chapter.
