president-elect

Therissa Gresfrud

With more than 22 years of healthcare experience and extensive background in infection prevention, including my current role at Texas Health, I bring both practical experience and strategic vision to this position. My work with diverse patient care units and my involvement in tackling healthcare-associated infections have honed my skills in leadership and collaboration. I am dedicated to advancing our chapter’s mission by fostering innovation, promoting best practices, and enhancing member engagement. My commitment to addressing current infection prevention challenges and my proven track record of successful project management make me well-suited to lead our chapter into its next phase of growth. I would be honored to serve as APIC-DFW President-elect and work together to drive excellence in infection prevention and make a significant impact in our community.

Charles Monney

I have been an Infection Preventionist for 17 years and currently work for CHRISTUS Health as the System Director for Infection Prevention and Control, overseeing all things IP for our domestic acute and ambulatory healthcare ministries. It has been my pleasure over the last 4 years to serve our chapter first as our Conference Committee Chair and most recently as Board Member #4 with my term ending this year. I've been involved with the APIC Chapters in Houston and San Antonio during my career, and I can honestly say that our DFW chapter has them all beat. I would be honored to be elected into the President-Elect position so I can help support our continuous journey of chapter excellence, Infection Preventionist development, and advocacy for our profession. Thank you for your consideration.

Treasurer-elect

Steven Stewart

I have been in healthcare since 2012 and earned my first leadership position later that year. My bachelor’s degree is in secondary education with a concentration in chemistry, and I have frequently been selected for mentoring roles, as well as presentations. While working at the Michael Dunn Center, I created a surveillance system for falls and antibiotics. Metrics improved by educating staff and residents, environmental changes, as well as changing hygiene products. I earned a graduate certificate in Leadership & Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities through Vanderbilt University’s Kennedy Center as well as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion certification through the Six Sigma Global Institute. I am co-chair of Parkland Health’s newest employee resource group, Opening Minds to Neuro-Inclusion (OMNI), which is set to go live on June 26th 2024.

board member #4

Sharmeen Qureshi

I am a new member of the APIC DFW chapter, having moved to Texas recently from Illinois. I am currently employed as a System Infection Prevention Consultant for Children's Health System of Texas and am currently studying for the CIC exam. I look forward to contributing to the DFW chapter.

Lisa Randall

I have worked as a director in infection prevention and employee health. I enjoy serving and helping infection preventionist grow.

Kimberly Walker

I have been in healthcare for 14 years, an RN for 11 of those years, and an IP for 8. I have held progressive leadership roles in Acute Care, IRF, Sub-Acute, LTC, Home Health and Hospice. I have never served with APIC before, but would love the experience!
