STEPHANIE KREILING

I've been an infection preventionist for 15 years, have been CBIC certified since 2009, and have served in my current role (as system director of infection prevention for Baylor Scott and White health) since 2017. In previous years I served a term as APIC-DFW board secretary, a term as nominating committee chair, and I also chaired the government affairs committee for several years. I love my job as an infection prevention leader and enjoy working with a large team of infection preventionists, and I would love the opportunity to collaboratively and humbly share my leadership skills and any infection prevention knowledge and experience in any way that would be meaningful to the APIC-DFW chapter and members. If elected, I will be dedicated, trustworthy, transparent, and always respectful. Thank you for considering me for this important position.

I became an Infection Preventionist in November 2019 on the eve of the COVID-19 pandemic after serving many years in the laboratory including extensive microbiology experience and 5-years of leadership experience. I currently serve as an Infection Preventionist as Texas Health Denton. In this role, I help support staff to drive HAI reduction through Performance Improvement projects and elevate patient safety through Infection Prevention and isolation rounding. I am a Certified Infection Preventionist and Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. My passion for ensuring the safety of our patients, visitors, and healthcare workers and my love for microbiology is what led me to Infection Prevention. Since joining APIC and the APIC-DFW chapter, I have learned that the resources of the chapter along with the networking it provides has served my personal practice and I wish to do that for other Infection Preventionists in the DFW area. It would be my honor to serve as your chapter Treasurer-elect.
