president-elect
TERI MAULDIN
It has been my honor to serve the chapter in a number of capacities since 2015. I was part of the Government Affairs Committee for 2 years, and served as the committee chair in 2016. I have been part of the Conference Committee for 3 years, and have served as the current Chapter Treasurer since 2017. Each of these unique opportunities has allowed me to observe and learn from our current and past APIC DFW leaders, committee members, and SIGs about their roles and all the incredible things each of them has done to serve the needs of our members. Through their efforts, we have a strong chapter that remains committed to Infection Prevention initiatives and education. I would be proud to have the opportunity to continue to serve the chapter in this role.
SECRETARY
ALVIONY SAMMONS
I have been working in Infection Prevention for 7 years and involved with APIC-DFW in a leadership role for 2 years as co-chair of the Professional Advancement Committee (PAC). I would like to continue to serve APIC-DFW in any capacity to support the chapter in achieving its mission and vision. My organization skills, attention to details, and ability to work well with others will help me carry-out the duties as an officer of APIC-DFW. I will work closely with other officers and members of the organization, and communicate timely and effectively.
TAYLOR GANS
I have experience serving for APIC DFW as the historian this past year and am familiar with the chapter and promoting chapter updates and events. I have great time management skills as well as organizational skills. These two skills would benefit me greatly in the secretary position. I also have experience in taking minutes for various meetings and having them completed for review in a timely manner. If given the opportunity to serve as secretary, I look forward to collaborating and working as a team for our APIC chapter.

CHUCK MONNEY
I have been an IP for more than 14 years, the last 10 of which in positions of leadership. I am currently the System Director for Infection Prevention with CHRISTUS Health, serving IP programs in ~30 hospital ministries and many more non-acute care settings across three states. I have been a member of the APIC-DFW chapter for three years after moving to the area in 2018 and have had the privilege of being more deeply involved over the last year as the chair of our annual conference committee. It’s been a pleasure getting to serve our chapter at a higher level and getting to know some wonderful people along the way. I have a passion for growing and supporting IPs and the great work they do, so being able to serve the chapter and each member by being on the board would be a tremendous honor. I appreciate your consideration.
DANIEL BLAST
I am excited by the opportunity to serve our chapter as Board Member #2. I currently serve APIC-DFW as the chapter secretary and am well-versed in board procedures and bylaws, allowing me to easily transition into a new role. I hold a Master of Public Health from UNTHSC, previously served FWISD as a certified middle and high school science teacher, and recently gained my CIC. This gives me a wide background in education making me ideal to assist the Professional Advancement Committee (PAC) in assisting our members earn and maintain certification. As well, I have previously worked in the graduate school admissions department while enrolled at UNTHSC, wherein I helped plan and run recruitment events for the school. Board Member #2 works with the APIC-DFW social committee and I will bring experience and enthusiasm assisting them as they plan our chapter’s social functions.

TIJERA BELL
I’ve been an Infection Preventionist (IP) for 3 years after transitioning from being an epidemiologist for nearly 5 years. I am currently an IP at JPS Health Network. I serve as the lead IP for 9 med-surg units, blood bank, inpatient lab, outpatient lab, point of care testing, and microbiology. I collaborate with nursing leaders and frontline staff to ensure TJC readiness, implementation of process improvement measures to reduce HAIs, and to provide education to all. My participation in APIC-DFW has been a vital part of my professional development, as it offers excellent networking opportunities, and continuously renews my passion for IP. It would be a great privilege to give back to my APIC-DFW community by serving the organization in a greater capacity by offering my willingness to serve.
